Diversity of Gifts
NOW concerning spiritual gifts brothers, I would not have you ignorant.
2 You know that you were Gentiles, lead away to these mute idols, even as you were led.
3 Therefore I make known to you, that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed; and no one can say Jesus is the Lord, except by the Holy Spirit.
4 ¶ Now there are diverseities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 And there are differences of positions in serving, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diverseities of works, but it is the same God which works all in all.
7 And the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each, for the profit of all.
8 ¶ For one is given, through the Spirit the word of wisdom; and to another, the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit;
9 To another, faith by the same Spirit; and to another, the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another powerful works; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; and to another diverse kinds of tongues; and to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But the one and the same Spirit works all these things, dividing to each man individually as He wills.
One Body
12 ¶ For just as the body is one, and has many members; and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
13 For also by one Spirit, are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
14 For the body is not one member, but many.
15 ¶ If the foot says: Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
16 And if the ear says: Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where is the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where is the sense of smell?
18 And accordingly, God has designated the members, every one of them in the body, according to His will.
19 ¶ And if all were one member, where would the body be?
20 But now they are many members, but yet one body.
21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of you; nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
22 Rather much more, are those members of the body which seem to be more feeble, necessary:
23 ¶ And those members of the body, which we suppose to be lacking value, upon these we bestow even more value; and our unpresentable parts have even more beauty.
24 For our presentable parts do not lack; rather God has composed the body, giving even more value to that parts which lacked:
25 That there should be no division in the body; rather, that the members should have the same concern for one another.
26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or, if one member is honoured, all the members rejoice with it.
27 ¶ And you all are the body of Christ, and also individual members.
28 And indeed God has designated in the Congregation, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that powerful works, then gifts of healings, ability to help others, leadership, diverseities of tongues.
29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all of powerful works?
30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
31 But strive for the better gifts; and besides I will show you a more excellent way:
