This letter from Peter is so rich!
The second chapter talks about God’s spiritual house of whom we are with Christ as the corner stone, reject of men but precious to God.
Again talking about obedience to the word of God and then going onto discuss that we are God’s own possession, that we should proclaim God’s powerful deeds to others.
One things many miss in the Bible is that God is building us up as witnesses to his works in this age, for the age to come. So when sin and death are behind the creation, we will be witnesses to this time and the mighty works of God to redeem mankind to future generations. I think verse 9 speaks to this.
Peter also tells us that their is no credit for suffering for our own sins, but rather when we suffer for our good works, this is grace.
Verse 19 and 20 also give a definition of what grace is, I’ve never noticed this before so it was very interesting.
