The Last Days
KNOW this also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their ownselves, lovers of money, pretentious, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, unforgiving, false accusers, without self-control, vicious, despisers of those that are good,
4 Betrayers, reckless, extremely arrogant, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God;
5 Having the features of godliness, but denying His power; from such turn away.
6 ¶ For of this sort are those which creep into houses, and lead captive foolish women weighed down with sins; led away with diverse desires,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 And as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these also oppose the truth; men of corrupt minds, proven worthless concerning the faith.
9 But they shall advance no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all, as theirs was also.
Suffering for Christ
10 ¶ But you have faithfully followed my doctrine, way of life, purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance;
11 Persecutions, sufferings which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
12 Yea, and all that wish to live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
13 And evil men and deceivers shall grow worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
14 ¶ But you continue in the things which you have learnt and come to believe, knowing from whom you have learnt them;
15 And that from a child you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise into salvation, through faith in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is inspired by God, and is beneficial for doctrine, for rebuke, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be complete, throughly furnished to every good work.
