This chapter talks about the Corinthian Congregation still being carnal and still not being able to bear the solid food of the Word of God.
The yard stick for Paul calling them carnal was that their jealousy, disputes and divisions amongst them, just as the people of this world. This raises the question, are we any different than the people of this world? Are we more like God, or more like the world around us?
This chapter also talks about our works and whether they will stand the test of fire on that day (being the day of the Lord). Please notice that this chapter assumes these works are built on the foundation of Christ, so it is not talking about mans works:
