The Son Revealed
GOD, who in many parts and in diverse manners, spoke in times past to the fathers through the prophets,
2 Has in these last days spoken to us through his Son; whom he has appointed heir of all things and through whom he also made the universe.
3 Who is the radiance of his glory, and the exact representation of his being, and sustains all things by his powerful word; having, through himself purified us from our sins; sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
The Son Superior to the Angels
4 ¶ Being greatly superior to the Angels, he has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
5 For to which of the Angels did he said at any time: You are my Son, this day I have begotten you? And again: I will be to him a Father, and he will be to me a Son?
6 And again, when he brought forth his first born into the world, he said: And let all Gods Angels worship him.
7 And of the Angels he said: He makes his Angels spirits, and his servants a flame of fire.
God Establishes Christ as Creator and Ruler
8 ¶ But to the Son: Your throne, O God, is for all ages and forever; the sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of your kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness, and hated lawlessness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of joy beyond that of your fellows;
10 And you Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the workmanship of your hands:
11 They will perish, but you will remain. And all shall wear out as a garment,
12 And as a robe you shall roll them up, and they shall be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will not end.
13 ¶ But to which of the Angels did he say at anytime: Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to serve? Being for the sake of those who will receive salvation?
