Enter into Gods Rest by Faith
FEAR therefore, lest at anytime you leave behind the promise of entering into his rest, and any of you seemingly fail to obtain it.
2 Also for us was the gospel proclaimed, just as to them; but the word they heard did not benefit them, not being combined with faith in those that heard it.
3 For those of faith enter into his rest, as he said: As I have sworn in my wrath: If indeed they enter into my rest! Even though his works were set in place from the foundation of the world.
4 ¶ For he spoke in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.
5 And in this place again: If indeed they enter into my rest!
6 So then; inasmuch as it remains that some must enter therein; and those to whom the gospel was formerly proclaimed did not enter in, because of disobedience:
7 ¶ Again, he appointed a certain day, saying in David: Today, after so long a time; as it is said: Today if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then he would not afterward have spoken of another day.
9 There remains as a result, a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
Labour to Enter Gods Rest
10 ¶ For he that enters into his rest; he also rests from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Work hard therefore to enter into that rest; lest anyone, by the same example of disobedience, falls!
12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of the joints and marrow, and is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
13 Neither is there any of creation that is hidden from his sight: Rather all are naked and laid bare before the eyes of him, to whom we must give account.
14 ¶ So then as we have a great high priest, that has passed into the heavens: Jesus the Son of God; let us hold fast our confession.
15 For we do not have a high priest which is unable to be sympathetic with our weaknesses; rather was tempted in everyway as we are, yet was without sin.
16 Let us therefore move with confidence towards the throne of grace, in order that we may receive mercy, and find grace to help in our time of need.
