Hell to Hades

ᾅδης This Greek word was formally translated as ‘Hell’ and ‘grave’. I have changed it to Hades which is its direct Greek name. The problem with using Hell is that the King James translators used it for three separate Greek words which means much understanding was lost to English readers.

The Greek word γέεννα (Gehenna) has been left as ‘Hell’ in the English as this place corresponds with our existing notions of Hell.
