Just finished translating James chapter 2.
This has to be one of the easiest to understand chapters in the bible and expounds how faith without works is dead.
This goes directly against those that claim you do not have to do anything to be saved except confess Christ with your mouth.
As Hebrews 11:6 says: Without faith, it is impossible to please God. I think we all agree on this. But as James is also saying without works, faith is meaningless and dead.
The story of the faithful in the Bible is very much of the faithful obeying God and thereby producing the works of God through faith, and James expounds this brilliantly in this chapter.
