I have changed Genesis 10:8 and 10:9 extensively. The old King James made Nimrod out to be good, but clearly he was not. The Hebrew text also indicates a negative view of the scriptures towards Nimrod. Clearly Nimrod set up a kingdom in opposition to God and God scattered them over the face of the earth for their evil. I have changed the new translation to:
Genesis 10:8 And Cush begat Nimrod: his defilement being great on the earth. He, being a mighty predator, before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod, a mighty predator, before the Lord.
You have to realise that Hebrew is a very loose language and is open to interpretation which makes it ideal for hiding revelation to those who search it out. A word study of this passage also shows that in another way the scripture is saying that Nimrod became a great and defiled being on the earth. Unfortunately when you translate Hebrew into English you lose that depth of meaning so only a study into Hebrew can bring these things out.
