The Book of Ruth is a beautiful story of a Gentile woman’s faithfulness to her mother-in-law and the faith of Israel.
This book, while seeming to be only a lovely little story amidst some of the more serious books of the Old Testament is clearly prophetic. What is more, it is clearly prophetic of the Gentile congregations (Church) and their relationship with Israel.
While reading the Book of Ruth, consider that Ruth represents the Gentile bride, Naomi Israel and Boaz the Kinsman Redeemer represents Jesus Christ.
If you study your Old Testament closely you will see that Boaz and Ruth become the Great Grandparents of King David, who of course Jesus is descended from in the flesh.
Please also note, that Boaz had to be a Kinsman of Naomi to Redeem the land and bride, just as Jesus had to come in the flesh to redeem the Earth.
It is well worth your further study to search out the concept of the Kinsman Redeemer in the Old Testament as it is key to understanding Jesus’ role in the Book of Revelation as the Kinsman Redeemer of the Earth and also the Avenger of Blood when he judges the world for all the righteous blood that has been spilt throughout the history of the world.
