THEREFORE my brothers, dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown: in this way, stand firm in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
Everything in Prayer and Supplication
2 ¶ I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, to be of the same mind in the Lord.
3 And I entreat you also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with my other fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.
4 Rejoice in the Lord always: again I say, Rejoice!
5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is near.
6 Be anxious for nothing; rather in all things by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds through Christ Jesus.
8 ¶ Finally brothers, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honourable, whatsoever things are righteous; whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are pleasing, whatsoever things are commendable; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 Those things, which you have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace will be with you.
God’s Provision
10 ¶ And I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last your concern for me has revived again; wherein you were also concerned before, but you lacked opportunity.
11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, to be content.
12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where, and in all things, I have learnt the secret of both being satisfied and being hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
13 I can do all things in Christ that strengthens me!
14 ¶ Notwithstanding you have done well, that you did participate in my tribulation.
15 Now you Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no congregation participated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but you only.
16 For even in Thessalonica, you sent once and again to my need.
17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit into your account, that it may abound.
18 ¶ But I have all I need, and abound: I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you: a sweet smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, wellpleasing to God.
19 And my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory, in Christ Jesus.
20 ¶ Now to God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
21 Greet every holy one in Christ Jesus. The brothers which are with me greet you.
22 All the holy ones greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household.
23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
