To God we Stand or Fall
RECEIVE him that is weak in the faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgement on his opinions.
2 For the one who has faith eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables.
3 Let him that eats, not despise him that does not eat; and let him which does not eat, not judge him that eats: for God has accepted him.
4 Who are you that judges another’s servant? To his own lord he stands or falls. And he shall be made to stand: for God is able to make him stand.
Live to the Lord
5 ¶ One man esteems one day above another: another esteems every day. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
6 He that sets his mind on the Lords day, does so to the Lord. He that does not think on the Lords day, also does not with regard to the Lord. He that eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he that does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.
7 For none of us lives to himself, and none dies to himself.
8 For if we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.
9 For this purpose Christ both died, and rose, and became alive again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
10 ¶ But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you treat your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11 For it is written: As I live, saith the Lord, every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will acknowledge God.
12 So then, every one of us, will give account of himself to God.
Walk in Love
13 ¶ Therefore, let us not judge one another any longer; but decide instead, not to put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in our brother’s way.
14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him that regards anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
15 But if, because of your food your brother is distressed, you walk not in accordance with love. Do not destroy him with your food, for whom Christ died.
16 Therefore, let not evil be spoken of your good:
17 ¶ For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in union with the Holy Spirit.
18 For he that serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God, and approved from men.
Edify One Another
19 ¶ Let us therefore pursue peace, and the strengthening of one another.
20 For foods sake do not destroy the work of God. All things are indeed clean; but, on the other hand: it is wrong for man, if by means of causing offence, he eats.
21 Neither is it good to eat meat, nor drink wine, nor any thing by which your brother is offended, or caused to stumble, or is made weak.
22 ¶ Do you have faith? have it in regards to yourself before God. Happy is he that does not condemn himself in regards to that which he allows.
23 But on the other hand, he that doubts is condemned if he eats, because it is not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
