After doing my word study in the New Testament regarding Sin, Trespass and Transgression, I then looked at the word usage in the Old Testament.
The Hebrew word פֶּ֫שַׁע is also used inconsistently in the King James and was used for ‘transgression’, ‘sin’, ‘trespass’ and ‘rebellion’. Transgression is clearly the best choice for translating this Hebrew word, so I have changed the English to use ‘transgression’ consistently for the Hebrew פֶּ֫שַׁע which is also consistent with the way I have used ‘transgression’ in the New Testament.
