Christian Qualities
BUT you speak that which is right, sound doctrine:
2 That the older men be sober, dignified, sensible, sound in the faith, in love, in endurance.
3 The older women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becomes holiness, not slanderers, not enslaved to wine, teachers of what is right;
4 That they may teach the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 To be sensible, pure, homemakers, good, subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God be not blasphemed.
6 Young men likewise beseech to be sound minded.
7 ¶ In all things showing yourself a pattern of good works; in doctrine: sound, dignified, incorruptible.
8 Sound speech beyond reproach; that he that is of the opposition may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
9 Exhort bond-servants to be obedient to their own masters, and to please them in all things; not speaking against them;
10 Not pilfering, rather showing all good faithfulness; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
The Teaching of the Grace of God
11 ¶ For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live sensibly, righteously, and godly, in this present age;
13 Awaiting the blessed hope, and the glorious intervention of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all lawlessness, and purify to himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.
15 These things speak, and beseech, and convict with all authority. Let no man disregard your authority.
